Technology

Engineered like a structure, not a box.

Every EcoLite and IFCO pallet is built on the patented Gridesic space frame.

Patented design

Three patents, one deck.

The formed steel deck sheet with its grid of pods
  1. (a)

    Space frame with pods

Pods give three-dimensional rigidity and mechanical integrity: a very light structure with a very high load-bearing capacity.

  2. (b)

    Reinforced leading edge

A continuously welded steel edge profile adds stacked-load capacity and protects against side and edge impact.

  3. (c)

    I-beam structure

Two formed sheets act as one I-beam in every direction, for high strength and minimal deflection.

Construction

Steel inside. HDPE outside.

  • Pressed steel deck. Two formed sheets, every hole made in one pressing, crimped together and to an edge tube.
  • Zinc plated and powder coated steel.
  • Full HDPE frame. Smooth, washable surfaces that don't chip, flake or produce dust.
  • Modular base. Legs, skids and crossrails bolt on with high-tensile M6 bolts, so each part can be replaced.

Manufacturing

Pressed and welded by robot.

State-of-the-art presses and robotic welding make highly accurate, repeatable parts.

The AR 4840 and IFCO 4840 are mined, melted and made in America by Steel X, powered by U.S. Steel. For other markets, a full production line can be set up for local manufacture, or components shipped for local assembly.
